The Story of Discover Pro Wrestling
Discover Pro Wrestling began in 2021 as an independent pro wrestling project founded by Eric Nordrum in the Twin Ports/Northland wrestling scene. Based out of Superior, Wisconsin, with major events held at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth, Minnesota, DPW was built around a long-form story universe: ownership, loyalty, betrayal, legacy and the idea that every show mattered.

From the beginning, DPW was not just a wrestling promotion. It was structured more like a saga.
At the center of that saga were four pillars:

Eric Nordrum - The founder and original force behind DPW.
Sierra - The first DPW Champion and the heart of the company’s early identity.
Alex Riley - The General Manager with decades of experience, brought in to run the project.
Paul Virk - The long-term antagonist whose obsession with control would eventually reshape the entire company.

In September of 2019, Eric Nordrum began sharing cryptic teasers on social media until unveiling the official Discover Pro Wrestling logo. Eric would spend the next few months quietly laying the groundwork for what was to come.
On January 1st, 2020, DPW unveiled the official company website, began expanding the social media base, and assured followers that the first show would be announced soon.

In mid-January, DPW announced the inaugural event, DPW 1: The Warmth of Warfare, to take place on June 28th, 2020. Announced for this event were AEW's Top Flight, Dante and Darius Martin, Jacob Fatu, Danhausen, and more. When tickets went on sale, Eric Nordrum shared on social media that it was the biggest on-sale day he has ever seen.

On March 14th, 2020, DPW officially postponed DPW 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
